Extra Care Services

  • An Estate Manager, employed by SCHA, is based at Phoenix House and oversees the day-to-day running of the scheme
  • All residents of Phoenix House are provided with a care and/or support plan which is prepared in consultation with them and individually tailored to their needs
  • Care and support is delivered either by a preferred domiciliary care provider based in Phoenix House which is currently Accord Care and Support – or by a provider of a resident’s own choice
  • Domiciliary care provision is registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • The housing related support service includes an on-site emergency alarm system; assistance with housing benefit claims and support to undertake daily living activities
  • A regular cleaning and grounds maintenance service ensures all communal areas of Phoenix House are kept clean and tidy Residents are also able to purchase a cleaning service for their own apartment.
  • Ordinary sheltered housing is unlikely to have a care and support team on site 24 hours to deliver planned care and support and respond to emergencies via the emergency alarm system.
